Rambert Dance Company Celebrates Birthday at Sadler’s Wells

Dance company will reimagine Nijinksy for 85th anniversary event.

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Legendary dance troupe Rambert is to perform a handful of dates this May at Sadler's Wells Theatre. Artistic director Mark Baldwin has updated Nijinksy's century-old L'Apres-midi d'un Faune' under the title What Wild Ecstasy'.

The music is being supplied by Gavin Higgins, who is also updating the original Debussy score with his own take. His music will be set to Rambert's choreography, creating a new ballet to mark the centenary of Nijinsky's great work.

The performances also celebrate the 85 th anniversary of Rambert, who have performed the original ballet many times in their history. The performances run from May 15-19 at 7.30pm each evening, with matinees on the 17 th and 19 th . Tickets cost between £12-£38.
