Ural Federal University enters THE BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2015

Ekaterinburg, Russia, December 10, 2015 — /EPR NETWORK/ — Ural Federal University, Russia, now holds the 165th position in the Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings, which lists the top-200 universities among 48 countries.

“The success of the University in the ranking is undoubtedly connected with the implementation of the program on enhancement of global competitiveness, the Project 5-100”, says the rector Victor Koksharov.

“One of the features of the ranking is that it puts emphasis on the indicators reflecting the cooperation between the university and the industry, as well as the level of internationalization”.

BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2015 was published by the British rating agency, Times Higher Education (THE), on December 2.

According to the THE editor, Phil Bate, “the BRICS countries and Emerging Economies Rankings uses the same 13 demanding and very strict performance indicators that are used for the global universities ranking, and therefore institutions should demonstrate high performance standards in teaching, research, internationalization and connections with industry “.

The editors of the rankings evaluate the best universities from 48 highly competitive countries with a dynamically developing economy, that is why, the experts believe, it is considered to be a great success to enter the top-200.
