Chicago, Illinois, 2016-Dec-07 — /EPR Network/ — R. Mark Halligan, FisherBroyles LLP Partner, will speak on “The New Trade Secret Law” in an audio webinar hosted by the National Business Institute (NBI) on January 30, 2017 from 10 am to 1:15 pm Eastern.

In this audio webinar, Halligan will give an overview of the new Defend Trade Secrets Act, reviewing what has changed as well as what has remained the same. He will also cover what the new rules mean when you’re bringing a lawsuit.  In addition, Halligan will discuss ex party seizures under DTSA, DTSA vs. state laws, and trade secret rights; enforcement – remedies for plaintiffs.

Mark Halligan is a an accomplished trial lawyer who focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and complex commercial litigation, including antitrust and licensing issues.  Halligan has successfully represented both individuals and corporations as plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts throughout the United States.  In recent years, he has been at the forefront of international developments in intellectual property law and is a recognized thought-leader in the ever growing area of Trade Secrets Law having spoken worldwide to numerous organizations and corporations on the topic.

Halligan has also written extensively on Trade Secrets Law. He has taught Advanced Trade Secrets Law at John Marshall Law School for 21 years. Halligan was a key resource for the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 1996 being the first to advocate a federal civil cause of action (without preemption) together with ex party seizure provisions in 2008.  He is recognized as one of the leading lawyers in trade secrets litigation in the United States by Legal 500 and by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for his exceptional standing in intellectual property law.
