Asia’s developing Techno Rail Network

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2017-Jul-12 — /EPR Network/ — Asia is seeing rapid growth in infrastructure, and thus there is an increasing demand to develop transport services to avoid traffic congestion. Rail operations has shown a growing trend through expansion plan of current networks as well as entrant of new rail players. Thus, it has become a viable option to meet the increasing demands for urban commuting as well as long distance travel. There are numerous railway projects in development or construction, representing billions of dollars in investment.

Asia’s Rail Transport Sector is set to expand over the next decade, with construction of its first High Speed Rail Link that will be connecting two major South-east Asian countries – Malaysia and Singapore. There are also plans of expanding the current railway line and constructing new railway lines by 2026 that will inter-connect the Southeast Asian Region. The government is also investing MYR160 ($49bn) on rail-related programs and taking these lines to the next gen, making them technologically advanced.

Southeast Asia is already a key market for rail industry suppliers. The long-term nature of rail developments in the region confirms that it will be of continuing international importance. The first completely Private Sector funded Infrastructure Project is being implemented in the Southeast Asia. World’s largest under-ground Tunnel is also located in the Southeast Region known as the “West Kowloon Terminus”.

The 5th Annual Malaysia Rail conference that is being hosted by Bricsa Consulting on the 14th – 15th August, 2017 at the Aloft KL Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be addressing the growing need of Railway networks in the Southeast Asian market to connect various Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and various others with each other.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak was quoted saying – “One can have breakfast in Kuala Lumpur, lunch in Singapore and be back in time for dinner in Kuala Lumpur. This is the shape of things to come”

The above quotes lets us know about the progress Malaysian government is hoping to make in the rail sector, not only in regards to connectivity but also in the technological aspects of the rail sector. The government bodies of various Southeast Asian countries are hoping to improve economic trade relations with each other. The Southeast Asia’s governments are looking for a better connectivity network which will enable easy travel for their citizens.
