Stop Any Bully Book FREE in October for National Bullying Prevention Month

Tampa Bay, FL,  2017-Oct-02 — /EPR Network/ — Bullying is like a small fire in the corner of your home. You have to extinguish it fast or it will grow. A new book by anti-bullying expert John Graden helps families to deal with bullying as soon as it starts. Stop Any Bully: A Family Plan for Taking Action, gives families a common language and understanding of bullying long before it ever occurs. In support of National Bullying Prevention Month in October, the book will be free in the Amazon Kindle store thanks to support from Sports Fitness Insurance Corp (SFIC), COBRA-Defense Systems, and the Martial Arts Teachers’ Association (MATA).

In stark contrast to many anti-bullying books, Graden suggests that parents let their kids know that some people are just not friendly and may never be a friend to you. Graden says, “The stress and confusion for a child being bullied is compounded when that child has no idea what is going on or what to do about it. Graden describes it like a school fire drill. “The book lays out a family plan that tells everyone exactly what bullying is and what to do about it.”

Too often, a child is bullied and is not armed with a plan of action. While Graden is a world renown martial arts leader, he says martial arts is not always the answer. “Most bullying starts with a flick of the ear, a trip, or name calling. If it’s not addressed, most bullies will escalate the actions until it gets serious. The book lays out a plan to stop any bully fast.

It shows families how to create evidence logs, send certified letters to school officials and even get the police to visit the bullies home. What it doesn’t include is contacting the bully’s parents so that most situations end without confrontation or violence.

The book is based upon the COBRA-Defense System designed by Graden’s partner Chris Sutton. COBRA-Defense presents law enforcement self-defense programs such as active shooter plans, anti-bullying, and real estate safety. Sutton says, “As a police officer and prison guard, I dealt with life-long bullies every day. This book is designed like a law enforcement protocol. There is no theory or unproven methods in the book. This is rock-solid.”

Sports Fitness Insurance Corp (SFIC) National Account Manager Jennifer Urmston said SFIC supports the plans described in the book because, as the mother of a middle schooler, she knows they work. Urmston says, “Stopping the terrible practice of Bullying means a whole lot more than just reducing liability. It is about improving the quality of kids’ lives. The health and safety of kids is always our number priority.”
