BYJU’S Selects FileCatalyst as the Transfer Technology to Deliver Educational Content to Users Across India

OTTAWA, Canada, 2018-Jun-13 — /EPR Network/ — FileCatalyst, an Emmy® award-winning pioneer in managed file transfers and a world-leading accelerated file transfer solution, has announced that BYJU’S – The Learning App decided to deploy FileCatalyst to deliver educational video content to users across India at accelerated speeds.

BYJU’S – The Learning App is the world’s largest k12 learning app for students, with 16 million registered students on the platform. The app offers comprehensive learning programs in Math and Science for students between grades 4 and 12. BYJU’S- The learning App has developed an all-inclusive model that makes learning effective for everyone.

These lectures are produced by eminent teachers across the globe. Being headquartered in Bangalore, all post-production for the videos happen in Bangalore; all this high volume production data has to transfer to Bangalore. As a startup, BYJU’S used traditional FTP as their core file transfer method, but this became a time-consuming process as the size of their video collection grew over time.

In order to meet their current file transfer needs and scale out as they grow, BYJU’S has deployed FileCatalyst Direct, a suite of client and server applications that enables point-to-point accelerated file transfers at speeds, on their 50 Mbps link. They have also deployed FileCatalyst Express to enable manual accelerated file transfers.

“We have our production crew uploading new video content on a regular basis to our central server,” said Vinay M R, CCO of BYJU’S. “With FileCatalyst, we are able to reduce time during huge data transfers, leading to better productivity, so we are now able to scale as we grow.”

“FileCatalyst is pleased to see that BYJU’S is benefiting from File Catalyst’s ability to provide the speed required to upload their post-production High Volume video contents more efficiently,” said Alan Atkinson, VP of Business Development & Marketing for FileCatalyst.

“Our client BYJU’S has seen immediate results in terms of speed & reliability for their file transfers for uploading their High Volume Video contents. We look forward to working with FileCatalyst and BYJU’S into the future and to provide solutions that maximize bandwidth and improve efficiency,” said Sunny John, Director of QC Infotech, FileCatalyst’s channel partner in India.
