Aimee Copeland Foundation to host fundraising gala “Evening With Aimee” to benefit pilot program

The Aimee Copeland Foundation is hosting an inaugural fundraising event to raise funds for a pilot program benefiting people with disabilities.

ATLANTA, United States, 2018-Jul-27 — /EPR Network/ — Aimee Copeland Foundation is holding a star-studded fundraising gala for the funding of its new pilot program at the award-winning fine dining and event venue 103 West in Atlanta. The program offers free services to people with disabilities – in particular, with a focus on those in wheelchairs – with early access available to a select few. The money raised from the gala will go towards the Aimee Copeland Foundation itself, as well as funding the pilot program for the next year. All are encouraged to come and participate on August 25, 2018.

The people participating in the pilot program will receive free individual therapy, group psychotherapy, recreation opportunities, and transportation, if needed. Additionally, participants will receive a membership to the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, GA.

On the impetus to start such a program, Copeland says:

“After surviving flesh-eating Bacteria at the cost of my limbs, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it can be to find fulfillment in the same activities that I once loved. As I have been working out my struggles (which are different than most people’s), and making sense of my own life, I have realized what a great need there is in the community of people with disabilities to regain a sense of meaning and empowerment. My goal is to help those with disabilities find that same fulfillment that I have struggled to find, in an environment where they feel safe. Ultimately, our goal is to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual healing for those in need.”

Doors open for general admission for the black-tie event at 6:30 p.m. A three-course dinner and program events will commence from 7 – 9 p.m. Events and perks include an hour-long motivational speech from Copeland to rejuvenate and energize the attendees, a raffle, a live quartet and pianist, and an awards ceremony to honor ACF’s top supporters. An after party (with free prosecco!) will commence at Basil’s Restaurant and Tapas Bar following the night’s festivities, with a portion of the restaurant’s bar sales donated to ACF as well.

Copeland will be available for a photographs, a meet-and-greet, and to further discuss the process of creating meaning, regardless of what challenges you may face.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying to receive FREE psychotherapy from Aimee through the pilot program, please apply here.
