PMP Exam updated, now to change from July 2020

Mississauga, ON, Canada, 2019-Sep-17 — /EPR Network/ — “The Project Management Institute (PMI) had previously announced that the PMP Exam content outline will change from December 2019. Countering which, the stakeholders determined that they need more time in order to release the new examination content outline. To which, the PMI has now shifted its date, and will now be publishing the new content outline on July 2020.”

In its latest announcement, the PMI confronted a decision to delay the examination changes. Now, from July 1st 2020, the examination will be based on a different PMP course and outline. Also, the last date to appear for the examination in the current outline of the examination is 30 June, 2020. Previously, the examination outline was changed in the year 2015, which has resulted in the current examination outline.

What are the expected changes in the new PMP examination outline?

The new PMP Exam outline will supposedly include additional techniques and responsibilities for project managers and there can also be an update in the question bank for the upcoming examination. Also, the updated outline will exclude certain domains, tools, techniques and responsibilities for aspiring project managers.

The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) latest edition is untouched and is still the core study and reference material for the questions asked in the examination. In above mentioned new ECO, half of the examination will represent hybrid or agile approaches and the other half will determine predictive project management approached. The new PMP Certification exam outline has been justified as “radical” as compared to the previously published examination outlines.

With updated topics, methods and domains, it will be no surprise that understanding the contents and appearing for the examination will be much harder. Also, the new examination outline features double the amount of examination course, which will require a significantly longer time to undergo the PMP Exam prep.
