CHAMPIONSHIP MOTOCROSS SERIES RACING COMES TO THE AUSTIN AREA FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!

AUSTIN, TEXAS, August 29, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Some of the top motocross racers of Texas will converge into the Austin area for the inaugural running of the Austin Area Championship Series, featuring six foot trophies to the Series Champions.

Featuring 25 motocross classes, from ages 4 to 50 plus, racing at ADMVX in Del Valle and MURPHYS MX in Red Rock will rock the central Texas action sports scene to its core with an entire weekend of family fun, live music, and of course, Motocross racing action at its finest.

Austin Area Championship Series is an epic collaboration from Austin Area Motocross Scene. “A spectacular event in the making, something the Austin area has never had before,” said Todd Trujillo, representing Western Power Sports and Fly Racing. “We have two great tracks in the Austin area: ADVMX has been a staple of Austin motocross for over 10 years, and Murphys MX is new out of the gate a couple years ago. Both tracks are very excited about this series and have been gearing up for a huge turnout of racers and spectators. From new PA systems, scoring systems, and safety fencing, to even clearing some trees for additional parking, they will be totally prepared for the awesome turnout we are expecting.”

“I can't even put into words how pumped we are for this event!” said David Wills, owner of Austin Area Motocross Scene, the promoter of the series. “I have been racing motocross for a long time, and I have been part of a lot of series, some good, some not so good. When we came together to plan out this first-ever series of its kind in the Austin area, I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t going to be anything but spectacular. There isn’t any small detail we haven’t gone over to make it the most fun, safest, memorable series with the absolute most awesome trophies ever given out in Texas. It will be 4 race weekends, the 1st and the 3rd weekends in September and October, and each weekend will be filled with food vendors, motocross vendors, and other local vendors...from trailers to boats to RV/toy hauler dealerships. And we are working on having all the dirt bike dealers in Travis and Bastrop counties at the event to service their customers face to face. We will be having organized practice on series weekend Saturdays, and after practice we will be putting on some live music in the pits with the help of some fantastic sponsors, and then cap off the weekend with an entire day of Championship racing Sunday. Austin is the new home of extreme sports and we feel there is nothing more extreme than motocross racing.”

WHEN: Weekends of September 5-7, September 19-21, October 3-5, and October 17-19

TIME: Organized practice on series Saturdays from 9 to 3, live music from 5 to 8 and racing begins at 10am on series Sundays.

TICKETS: Gate fees $15 for Saturday and Sunday or $10 Saturday or Sunday
