-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- New Jersey rapper J.Ransom has released his latest single, Bring It Back. The single is Ransom's most significant official music release since his winter of 2013 mixtape, Life Beyond Reason: Speaking to the World, which was made available to the public free of charge. A track with a modern edge and an old-school heart, Bring It Back is a song that every fan of the rap and hip-hop genres can get behind.

J.Ransom's Bring It Back is a call for music fans, rappers and DJs alike to return to the way of the original urban poets, who in the eyes of many respected music critics did some of their best work in the 1990s, often referred to as the new-school era of hip hop. His beats are strong, his lines are sharp, and his studio production is slim, trim and clean.

The first thing I ever wrote creatively was a rap, writes J.Ransom, who published two books before his 22 nd birthday. I have been listening to music since birth. My uncle was a local DJ who introduced me to music. I creatively have done all types of writing, but it was not until a year ago I started taking being an artist seriously. But I have worked as a part of an independent record company and as a producer.

What strikes the listener first upon pressing 'play' is the full, shadowy sound of Bring It On. Immediately after, it becomes absolutely clear that J.Ransom cares deeply about the message of his music. This is not casual, freestyle rapping. This is rap music penned by someone with an ear for groove and a mind for significant meaning.

J.Ransom writes of the themes in Bring It Back, This single is very true to every word said in the lyrics. This is meant to be a hip-hop song with my style of lyricism and production. It is true to the northeast sound of hip-hop originated in NYC, but with Jersey flavor and a poetic truth. The song is very much so made for the love of the music and hop-hop culture.

Ransom's passion for the craft is self-evident in his tone and wordplay. He cites as main artistic influences Nas, Jay-Z, GZA, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, INI, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Gangstarr, Black Star, Kanye West, Pusha T, and Common.

Bring It Back by J.Ransom is available online worldwide beginning January 5, 2014.
