NEW INNOVATIVE SOCIAL UTILITY APP LAUNCHES TO ELEVATE FOOD SHARING EXPERIENCES

Unique Food App Combines Social Media and Personal Culinary Adventures in a Visually-Driven Platform

IRVINE, Calif., 2016-Jul-06 — /EPR Network/ — Yummi, a new social food app developed by a former Google executive launches in the Apple’s App Store. Yummi combines the best principles of Instagram, Yelp, and Tinder into one streamlined app, helping its users to remember and share life’s most delicious moments on a vertically focused social network platform just for the eating experience.

Yummi enables food lovers to capture, organize and share good food largely within a trusted network. Whether dining out on a special occasion, traveling to some exotic locales, or cooking a delicious meal at home, the app’s uniquely designed features allow anyone to share, discover and remember good food among friends.

“What we have created isn’t necessarily new; rather what we are bringing to the market today is an innovative social experience just for food sharing,” according to the Yummi Team. “We think the community of food lovers will find the many utilities on Yummi to be very helpful, as it offers practical value that is not currently seen on other social media platforms.”

Yummi is the first social utility app of its kind to help users track and share their eating adventures with incredible ease and convenience. It offers a number of unique functions including, but definitely not limited to:

  • Backdating organizes each post by chronological order, not by post date
  • Control individual post visibility to others by toggling private/public
  • Upload multiple images per post
  • Classify every post into a cuisine category
  • Bookmark favorite images and places to recall later
  • Geolocation tagging for all posts
  • Search any posts by place, cuisine, or hashtag
  • Sort friends’ posts to show nearest to you
  • Swipe images to explore yummi places nearby
  • View all posts in beautiful calendar format

A number of influential foodies have been experimenting with Yummi while the app was in development. Kristie Hang, a journalist, food/travel blogger, and TV host based in Los Angeles, was one of the early adopters of the app.

“I love using the Yummi app as a food journal to keep track of places I have eaten,” said Hang. “The app design is so easy to use. All the features are extremely helpful for anyone who loves to eat. It’s about time someone developed an app like this that extracts more value out of a picture than just giving it a Like.”

Nami Chen of JustOneCookbook.com, a food blogger who shares great cooking recipes on how to make delicious Japanese food and has over 170K followers on Facebook and YouTube separately, also got a chance to be an early user. She said: “I really like Yummi and how it just focuses on food sharing. It packs lots of useful functionality into one app serving a useful purpose for anyone who loves food.  Whether you eat out a lot or share cooking recipes, like myself, this app has done a fantastic job offering a platform where any type of food activity can find utility on it. I definitely will be telling all my friends and blog readers about Yummi so they can be inspired, like me, for their next food destination.”
