Hip hop group Alliance of Fire release debut single ‘Get to You’

BOSTON, Mass., 2018-Aug-21 — /EPR Network/ — The artists of hip hop and pop music known as Alliance of Fire have released their official debut single, “Get to You.” The track has been proudly published on the Driving Records Music Group independent record label without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Harmonic, melodic and delivered in the tradition of the world’s best-loved hip hop of all time, “Get to You” is a single to put Alliance of Fire on the map once and for all.

Boston’s Alliance of Fire cite as main artistic influences Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Roots. Much like these legendary performers, their own sound on “Get to You” mixes elements of hip hop and rock for a blend of pop likely to appeal to a broad variety of listeners.

One notable difference, however, is that Alliance of Fire cannot be called ‘rap rock,’ that oft-maligned term given to heavy-metal music overlain with rap vocals. Rather, Alliance of Fire combines highly danceable pop sounds with electric guitars, harmonized vocals and cadenced rhymes and lines for a result which nightclub DJs and rhythm-and-blues fans both can agree upon.

“We are four musicians who in the past worked together on our solo projects but decided to do a project collectively,” write Alliance of Fire. “We wanted to create a new sound all while having catchy melodies and good lyrics.”

Hearing their debut single “Get to You” for the first time is enough to tell that these musicians are no amateurs. The production is slick, the performances are nailed, and the songwriting is radio-ready. It’s true, too, that Alliance of Fire aren’t pretending this is their first rodeo.

“Much of the material we’ve had sitting in the archives for a while,” they write. “Finally decided to release it. We feel as if the hip-hop/rock style hasn’t been done this way before.”

Asked to comment on the overall themes of their freshman release, Alliance of Fire say simply, “Our single is about being romantically involved with someone, hurting them, and being willing to do whatever it takes to get them back.”
