Long-standing tradition plans itinerary for coming year.

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The tremendously popular 'Science Night' sleepovers will return this year, with dates currently set for January 12th, April 20th, May 18th, July 6th, October 12th, December 7th and a special Brownie-only night on November 23rd.

During the evening, kids and parents get the museum to themselves, where they can experience all the hands-on workshops and interactive experiences usually on offer to busy crowds of daily tourists. Themes vary from month to month, but an IMAX film is guaranteed, as is a make-and-take workshop, enabling children to have a keepsake of their trip. The stay is fully supervised by trained staff, and culminates in a tasty breakfast the following morning.

A veteran of city museum sleepovers, 'Science Night' has been running since the nineties, when many of the current staff attended as children. Jonathan Ross and Prince Andrew are among those whose children have attended the sleepover.

The experience kicks off at 6.45, as soon as the museum closes, and finishes after breakfast at 10am. Once the doors open to the public, kids are free to continue exploring the 50+ interactive exhibits during the day, all included in the £45 ticket price.

Parents looking to extend their stay can find a discounted hotel in London courtesy of LondonTown.com. The website has partnered with a number of hotels close to the Science Museum on Exhibition Road, offering discounted rates throughout the year to coincide with each 'Science Night'.

One participating hotel in London is the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel. Situated on Cromwell Road, less than ten minutes' walk from the Science Museum, the Radisson is currently offering double rooms at a 63% discount. The offer only available through LondonTown.com brings the cost of a night's stay down to £96.

Closer still is the Fifty Four Boutique Hotel on Queen's Gate. Offering double rooms from £105, the discount is a 65% reduction on their standard nightly rate. The Fifty Four Boutique is less than five minutes' walk from the Science Museum.

The Grange Strathmore, situated on Queen's Gate Gardens, is offering a 59% discount on double rooms, making the cost of a night's stay just £69, an impressive deal for a hotel in London's coveted South Kensington.
