Popular Orlando restaurant gives back to community

Nine Spices Hotpot donates to local charities

ORLANDO, Fla., 2019-Jan-29 — /EPR Network/ — Nine Spices Hotpot, a popular Chinese fondue restaurant in the tourism corridor, is giving back to the Orlando community.

The restaurant recently donated $1,000 each to three organizations that serve children in Central Florida. The receiving organizations were Feeding Children Everywhere, UCP of Central Florida and the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools.

“Hunger is a problem that affects children and families all around the U.S. It’s surprising to hear, but even our own community is riddled with food insecurity,” said Jimmy Zheng, the owner of Nine Spices Hotpot. “We’re honored to give back to organizations that work diligently to feed, educate and empower children.”

To kick off the giving, the restaurant donated to Longwood charity Feeding Children Everywhere last fall. Feeding Children Everywhere hosts meal-packaging events called Hunger Projects in the Orlando community and around the U.S. It delivers the packaged meals to hungry children and families all over the world.

Nine Spices then donated to UCP of Central Florida, a tuition-free public charter school that serves children with and without special needs. All of the seven locations throughout the Greater Orlando area offer support, education and therapy for children of all abilities and their families.

To finish off Nine Spices Hotpot’s season of giving back, the restaurant donated to the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools just before the holidays. The gift will support OCPS food and nutrition programs put into place for students in need.

Nine Spices Hotpot specializes in creating an authentic, but unique dining experience for locals and tourists alike. The restaurant specializes in traditional hot pot, offering a la carte options and an all-you-can-you option with ingredients on a conveyor belt. It also offers a customizable sauce bar. Located conveniently in Orlando’s tourism district, the restaurant is just minutes away from Orlando’s theme parks.
