Seattle, Washington, 2018-Jan-25 — /EPR Network/ — In 1992, two brothers, James and Steve Corbett, set out to build their dream company. They wanted to create a fun and successful business that provided customers with a quality service, and offered its employees a great place to work. From this vision, an expedition company was born: American Outback Adventures (Outback).

Initially accepting bags of cash from groups of teens for local ski trips and making payroll with rolls of coins, Outback now partners with large and small corporate organizations, including Fortune 500 companies like Coca-Cola and Microsoft.

The transition from offering skiing, paddling, and hiking expeditions to producing team building activities came in 2000, when long-time customer McDonald’s inquired about doing a “Survivor-style” team building activity, instead of their annual rafting trip. The event was such a success that Outback began creating and developing more team building solutions. The company now offers over 30 unique activities, including other reality-TV-inspired events, such as Minute To Win It, and philanthropic solutions where participants build wheelchairs or bikes for individuals in need. Eventually, the company tacked “events” onto the end of American Outback Adventures and, in 2015, it expanded its product range to include employee training, team coaching, and management consulting programs.

2017 marked the company’s 25th year in business and, in celebration of that milestone, Outback has decided to ditch its old name in favor of an identity that better reflects the services it offers. In January 2018, American Outback Adventures & Events officially changed its name to Outback Team Building & Training.

“As a company, we’re really proud of the evolution of our business,” says Murray Seward, President of Outback Team Building & Training. “To grow the way that we have in order to meet our customers’ needs, and to have done it with such success – after 25 years in business, it felt like the right time to make the change to our name. Now, customers will be able to easily remember our company name, and find us online that much quicker. They also won’t need to give some long-winded explanations to their colleagues and bosses as to why they want to partner with an ‘adventure’ company for their next team building event or employee training seminar.”

In addition to making it easier for customers to find Outback Team Building & Training’s services, the name change will help people better understand what the company can offer for their next corporate event.
