Donny Hathaway Tribute Show, (A musical tribute that brings awareness to Depression Disorder).

Although Paul Johnson Jr.  has written, produced and directed over 17 successful stage play productions over the past 6 years, he is now focusing his energy on portraying one of the greatest soul singers of our time, Donny Hathaway. Amazingly, Paul shows up as the total Donny package: voice, wardrobe and of course, the Fender Rhodes Mark I, 88 key electric keyboard. After performing as Donny Hathaway, Paul has experienced audience members approaching him, expressing their love and that he must be the ghost of Donny, re-incarnated.

Since 2010, Paul Johnson Jr. has overwhelmed many venues with his nearly spot on performance as Donny Hathaway. Performance venues include: Motor City Casino Sound Board Theater, The Paul Robeson Theater, Max M. Fisher Theater, The Charles H. wright African American Museum and his latest venue, the Paul Robeson Theater (Aug. 6th). The overall vision of Paul Johnson Jr. is to bring awareness to the disease, Paranoid Schizophrenia and Depression two diseases in which Donny Hathaway carried with him until the day of his tragic death on January 13, 1979.

313 Soul Entertainment, LLC was founded in 2010 by Paul Johnson Jr., in hopes of preserving and revitalizing theater, music and the arts.  We have produced music in the city of Detroit for over a dozen years. We have over 18 stage plays in production, as well as a Donny Hathaway Tribute CD online entitled “Soulful Renditions” by Paul Johnson Jr. (Itunes, Amazon, Spotify and more).
